20 January 2026, Labuan: Labuan Financial Services Authority is pleased to announce that the Minister of Finance II has appointed Dato’ Zain Azhari bin Mazlan and Encik Mohamad Ali Iqbal bin Abdul Khalid as new Authority members of Labuan FSA for a two-year term, effective from 15 January 2026 to 14 January 2028. This is in addition to the reappointment of Datuk Nor Azimah binti Abdul Aziz, Datuk Hisham bin Rusli, Mr. Steven Choy Khai Choon and Dr. Aida binti Othman as Authority members for a further term of two years as approved by the Minister of Finance II.
Dato’ Zain Azhari bin Mazlan is the Executive Director of Corporate Finance and Investments at the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC), responsible for issues and investments, including the issuance of securities, takeover and merger activities, collective investment schemes and the registration of prospectuses.
Encik Mohamad Ali Iqbal bin Abdul Khalid is an Assistant Governor at Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM). In this role, he oversees the Investment, Market Operations and Development, Treasury Risk and Infrastructure, and Foreign Exchange Policy departments.
Labuan FSA Chairman, Datuk Ahmad Hizzad bin Baharuddin, warmly welcomes the new Authority Members, stating that their diverse expertise and leadership experience will complement the existing Members and bring fresh perspectives to the continued development and advancement of the Labuan IBFC.
