Mr Affendi Rashdi, Director General of Labuan FSA delivered the Regulatory Opening Address at the Asia Fintech Forum 2026 on 2 October 2026 in Kuala Lumpur. Speaking on “Architecting Asia’s Financial Frontier: AI, Digital Assets, and Inclusive Banking,” he highlighted the growing role of AI, digital assets and tokenisation in reshaping finance, and the importance of balancing innovation with sound governance and appropriate safeguards.

Mr Jaafar Rihan, Head of Islamic Market Development, also participated as a panellist, sharing perspectives on Islamic Fintech and Shariah-Compliant Innovation. The participation reflects Labuan FSA’s continued commitment to supporting responsible digital innovation and advancing Labuan IBFC’s digital financial ecosystem.
