Kuala Lumpur, 11 June 2015 – Labuan International Business and Financial Centre (Labuan IBFC) - Asia Pacific’s leading midshore business and financial centre - is organising the Wealth Management for Managers Conference across three main ASEAN cities to encourage talent development and facilitate the use of internationally-recognised asset protection structures among Southeast Asia’s wealth management fraternity.
“Each part of the wealth management value chain requires specific value-added competency, ranging from the acquisition of assets, advisory and management services to structuring, custodial services and distribution of assets. The ASEAN region, with its growing number of High-Net-Worth Individuals (HNWIs), is demanding greater access to wealth management services. It is for this reason Labuan IBFC, which already offers a range of legal entities for asset protection and legacy planning, is organising this one-day knowledge-sharing session in Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta and Singapore,” said Danial Mah Abdullah, Interim Chief Executive Officer of Labuan IBFC.
The Wealth Management for Managers Conference, which will kick off in Kuala Lumpur on 16 June 2015, will explore what it takes to successfully service Southeast Asia’s growing HNWIs and focus its discussion on topics such as how international legal structures are evolving to match client needs, the role of philanthropy in wealth management and the unique asset protection requirements of Muslim HNWIs in the region.
The conference is aimed at private bankers, wealth managers, independent financial advisers, and professionals from family offices, law firms, trust companies, accounting and tax consultancies. The conference will be held in Singapore on 20 August followed by Jakarta on 1 October.
The conference will feature the following speakers:
- Datuk Dr. Mohd Daud Bakar, Group Chairman of Amanie Advisors
- Bernard Fung, Director and Head of Family Office Services and Philanthropy Advisory, Asia Pacific at the Private Banking Division of Credit Suisse
- Millie Chan, Lawyer and Senior Consultant, Asia Pacific Markets at Borden Ladner Gervais
- Patrick Chang, Head of ASEAN Equities at BNP Paribas Investment Partners Malaysia
